DR. BRETT THOMBS
Dr. Thombs is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, McGill University and a Senior Investigator, Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. An important area of his research focuses on working together with people with scleroderma to develop strategies to live better with the disease. Dr. Thombs is the Founder and Director of the Scleroderma Patient-centered Intervention Network (SPIN). Dr. Thombs also conducted research on mental health screening and assessment and is the Chair of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care, which develops evidence-based guidelines to support primary care providers across Canada in delivering preventive health care. Dr. Thombs is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and a Member of the Royal Society of Canada College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
